Dates and Rates

Rates vary according to the cruise theme, length of time aboard, and refreshments served.  The goal of this service is to personalize the ride to fit your group.  We can sometimes be available on short notice – call us even while eating at a local restaurant to take a ride after lunch or dinner. Want a one-way trip between lakeside locations. Let us help you customize your cruise.  Here is a bit of how the fees are scheduled:

  • 2 Hour Public Tour: Departs from Pick’s at Portage Lakes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm.  Reservations suggested and walk-ons accepted when seats are available.  $30.00 Per Person (Seniors 65+ are $25.00 and children ages 2-10 $15.00 Children under age 2 ride free) Leaves from Pick’s At PLX, 530 Portage Lakes Drive Akron 44319
  • 2 Hour Private Cruise up to 10 passengers: These are held any day, at multiple times, subject to availability.  $40.00 Per Person ($120.00 minimum.) Departure from Pick’s AT PLX unless otherwise arranged – 530 Portage Lakes Drive Akron 44319
  • WEEKEND Sunset Dinner Cruise: $70.00 Per Person for Chicken (Broasted) and Vegetarian option (Pasta Marinara), $75.00 for steak dinner. Dinners include baked potato (except for pasta choice), salad or cole slaw, coffee or tea, and dessert. Enjoy this lovely meal during a relaxing cruise – add a dash of music and mood lighting, and you have a total event. There is no senior discount on dinner cruises.
  •  Weekday Dinner-to-go option:  Pay for a special cruise with dessert and coffee, and order from a lakeside eatery as you leave our dock.  Your captain will make sure you arrive at your pick-up location when your food is ready.  This option allows you to have an adult beverage while waiting for your dinner, and you’ll still enjoy a lovely dinner table aboard the boat while you finish your cruise.  


Children 2 and under ride free – Children ages 2-10 pay 1/2 of the adult rate.  Seniors (65+) enjoy a $5.00 discount from adult rates.

Cancellation policy: Cruises are generally held rain or shine, but in event of dangerous conditions such as lightening or high winds every effort is made to reschedule the event. If this isn’t possible a refund or gift card for future cruises can be issued.

Premium refreshments can be provided for an additional charge, and your preferences are considered during the planning stage.  We can bring aboard meals to suit your tastes from box lunches to full dinners.  Breakfast is available for morning cruises. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages, alcohol prohibited.

Payment methods include cash, checks, and credit cards. Booking online makes departure easier and faster. One person can arrange the cruise and guests can check in and pay their portion – all before the cruise begins.  Split payments can be made in advance by calling 330-760-0270.

Cruises start May 1st and run through September 30th.  Trips are subject to availability and times vary according to appointments scheduled.  To insure your preferred date and time, book early.

Rules of the boat:

1. Safety First – every consideration will be made to ensure the safety of our guests.  All of the regulations enforced by the Portage Lakes State Parks, the Ohio Division of Watercraft, and the U.S. Coastguard will be observed, and all safety related equipment will be available aboard the boat at all times.

2. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed aboard. Visibly impaired guests will ride only at the discretion of the boat driver.  For pub-crawl tour, a designated driver or alternate transportation arrangements must be arranged before departure to protect our guests and everyone on our highways.

3. Our boats are licensed and insured, and our drivers are certified boat handlers.  Tours are conducted at the discretion of the captain and may be postponed or rescheduled in the event of potentially dangerous weather, mechanical conditions, or disruptive passengers.  Refunds or alternative arrangements will be made accordingly.

Tips: Dress for the weather – wear your swimsuit or summer clothing, but bring a sweater or jacket.  Bring sunscreen, hat or visor, insect repellent and other items you usually take to the beach or on vacation. If children are part of your group, please bring their favorite games or toys – sightseeing is less entertaining for the little ones.  Child-sized life jackets are available and must be worn by children under 10 years of age at all times

Menu Choices

Ice water and small bags of chips are included in every cruise and are complimentary.

Box Lunch consists of a sandwich, fruit, chips, and a sweet treat. Cost is $8.00 ($6.00 for Seniors (65+) and children (1/2 sandwich).

* Sandwich consists of a large Croissant with  Chicken, Tuna, or Egg Salad, or 4″ Italian sub or a meatless side salad.(Call with special dietary needs before finishing your booking – 330-760-0270)

Dinner cruise is your choice of entrees from a local restaurant, served in style aboard the boat.   Have a memorable boat ride with dinner for  $140.00/couple – for around what just the dinner would cost at a restaurant.  On weekdays it’s fun and easy to order from a lakeside restaurant – you get a larger selection, and you can try a different place each time you cruise.  For these times, you pay just for the cruise and buy your own dinner and drinks.  Rates are $50.00 per person and include coffee and dessert to go with your dinner.

Carry-out of Guiseppi’s or other Pizza,  Barberton Chicken, Jimmy John’s, and other choices are available at actual food costs.
